Proof of the Median Paths

چکیده
We consider the problem of coding for discrete memoryless channels with noiseless feedback. When studying Horstein’s sequential coding scheme, Schalkwijk in 1971 found a regular behaviour of the so-called median paths for certain channel error probabilities, which led to the development of repetition strategies. We proof that Schalkwijk’s block decoding scheme exactly follows Horstein’s regular

On the oriented perfect path double cover conjecture
An oriented perfect path double cover (OPPDC) of a graph $G$ is a collection of directed paths in the symmetric orientation $G_s$ of $G$ such that each arc of $G_s$ lies in exactly one of the paths and each vertex of $G$ appears just once as a beginning and just once as an end of a path. Maxov{'a} and Ne{v{s}}et{v{r}}il (Discrete Math. 276 (2004) 287-294) conjectured that ...

متن کاملA new security proof for FMNV continuous non-malleable encoding scheme
A non-malleable code is a variant of an encoding scheme which is resilient to tampering attacks. The main idea behind non-malleable coding is that the adversary should not be able to obtain any valuable information about the message. Non-malleable codes are used in tamper-resilient cryptography and protecting memories against tampering attacks. Many different types of non-malleability have alre...
متن کاملA simple proof of Zariski's Lemma
Our aim in this very short note is to show that the proof of the following well-known fundamental lemma of Zariski follows from an argument similar to the proof of the fact that the rational field $mathbb{Q}$ is not a finitely generated $mathbb{Z}$-algebra.
متن کاملA Congested Double Path Approach for a Hub Location-allocation Problem with Service Level at Hubs
In this paper an uncapacitated multiple allocation p-hub median problem is discussed. The model minimizes the transportation cost based on inventory service level at hubs through double paths between hubs. Inventory service level is defined as the percent of inventory shortage of vehicles at hubs according to passengers demand and replenishment time of vehicles. A real data from 25 nodes of mun...
